Robin Roberts
- Started her TV career as a sports reporter in Hattiesburg, MS and since then has won numerous awards for her outstanding coverage of news events
- In 1987 she was awarded the “Nashville Scene” Sportscaster of the Year
- She joined ESPN in 1990 earning three Emmy Awards for her work
- From 1996 to 2002 she served as the ESPN studio host for the NCAA Women’s Final Four
- She was the 2001 WBCA Mel Greenberg Media Award winner, the 2004 Billie Jean King Contribution Award winner, and the 2008 WNBA Inspiration Award recipient
- She has received awards and honors from the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Congressional Families Cancer Prevention Program, and Gilda’s Club
- Currently, She is the anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America” show, where she has won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning program
- In 2006, she was named one of the NCAA’s 100 Most Influential Student-Athletes, and in 2001 she was named a “Louisiana Legend” by Louisiana Public Broadcasting
- Played college basketball at Southeastern Louisiana University finishing her career as one of the school’s all-time leading scorers (1,446) and rebounders (1,034)
