- Tournament director for Southeastern and Tennessee AAU Girls Basketball Tournaments
- Volunteered with AAU Girls Basketball for 36 years
- Inducted into the AAU Volunteer Hall of Fame (2001)
- President’s National Leadership Award honoree (1987)
- Received multiple awards including the Sears Award (1984), the Cartwright Award (1981), and the Spark Plug Award (1957)
- The bookstore at Motlow College was named in his honor (1989)
- Served on the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Directors
