• Put Baskin on the national basketball map with an incredible 218-game winning streak, a mark that still stands as a national record for organized sports at any level — high school, college, or pro — stretching across six seasons (1948-1953)
• Led Baskin to eight consecutive state championships (1948-1955)
• Outscored opponents 11,709-5,300 during the streak, averaging 53.7 points per game while allowing just 24.3, for a margin of victory of nearly 30 points per game
• After the loss that ended the streak, reeled off another 71 straight wins over three seasons, resulting in 289 wins out of 290 games and a 315-2 record between 1945 and 1955
• Retired after 33 years at Baskin (1943-1976), posting a 654-263-2 record for a .711 winning percentage
