• Joined the Tennessee Lady Vols as a walk-on while on a track scholarship for the 400 meters (1976)
• Helped the Lady Vols reach their first Final Four in program history (1977)
• Won gold with the U.S. team at the William Jones Cup (1979)
• Won silver with the U.S. team at the Pan American Games (1979)
• Won gold with the U.S. team at the FIBA World Championship for Women (1979)
• Was recognized as the best player in the South during her Tennessee playing career
• Was a three-time All-American, earning Kodak All-America honors as a senior (1980)
• Helped the Lady Vols reach the Final Four a third time, finishing as national runner-up (1980)
• Became the first player in University of Tennessee athletics history, men's or women's, to have her jersey retired (1980)
• Named a member of the U.S. Olympic Team (1980)
• Held Tennessee records for most assists (14) and steals (9) in a single game, most assists in a season (225), and most games played in a career (141)
• Played professionally with the Nebraska Wranglers of the Women's Professional Basketball League (1981)
• Named a WBL All-Star as the Wranglers captured the league title (1981)
• Served as an assistant, then associate head, coach under Pat Summitt for 27 seasons, helping Tennessee win eight national championships (1985-2012)
• Compiled a 172-67 record as Tennessee's head coach, winning SEC regular-season titles (2013, 2015), the SEC Tournament championship (2014), and reaching the NCAA Elite Eight three times (2012-2019)
