- Earned national acclaim as an honorable mention All-American in 1939, playing in her first AAU national tournament as a 16-year old high schooler
- Played with four different teams during her basketball career including Nashville Business College (1939-42, 1949-50), Vultee Aircraft (1943-45), Nashville Goldblumes (1946), and Atlanta Sports Arena Blues (1947-48)
- Played on five AAU national championship teams (1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, and 1950)
- Turned in a legendary performance with a 56-point showing in a single game, shooting left-handed due to an injured right shoulder

Betty F. Jaynes
- Named Chief Executive Officer of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on September 1, 1996 after serving 15 years as Executive Director of the organization
- Has been a part of the WBCA since its founding in 1981, helping the organization grow from a membership of 212 to 5,000-plus
- Has served as the WBCA’s chief liaison to numerous affiliated governing bodies and sport organizations, including USA Basketball, the Women’s Sports Foundation, the NCAA, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA)
- Served as head women’s basketball coach at Madison College (renamed James Madison University in 1977) from 1970 to 1982, compiling a 142-114 worksheet
- Chaired the U.S. Girls’ and Women’s Basketball Rules Committee from 1979 to 1981
- Acted as tournament director for the 1975 AIAW Large College National Basketball Championships
- Served as committee chair of the Kodak All-America program from 1976 through 1982

Breezy Bishop
- Built one of the nation’s top high school programs during 24 seasons at Western High School in Baltimore
- Compiled an overall record of 424-40, winning back-to-back Maryland State Championships in 1994 and 1995 and 17 Baltimore City Championships with her teams consistently ranked among the nation’s best by USA TODAY
- Was selected as the WBCA National High School Coach of the Year in 1995 as well as a head coach for the WBCA Girls’ High School All-America Game
- Served as an assistant coach at the 1995 U.S. Olympic Festival, helping her team earn a silver medal
- Also coached collegiately at Coppin State University, Johns Hopkins University, and Towson State University
- Served as an assistant coach at North Carolina State University during the 1997-98 season as the Wolfpack reached the NCAA Women’s Final Four for the first time in school history
- Returned to the Baltimore area during the summer of 1998 and now heads up a basketball academy for middle school children

- Also directed Immaculata College to two runner-up finishes in the AIAW Championships as well as five Eastern AIAW Championships
- List of “firsts” achieved by her Immaculata squads includes playing the University of Maryland in the first women’s collegiate basketball game to appear on national television (January 26, 1975) and playing Queens College in the first women’s collegiate basketball game to be played at Madison Square Garden (February 1975)
- Posted a record of 149-15 for a winning percentage of .910 in seven years as the coach at Immaculata
- Coached the United States to a gold medal at the 1975 Pan American Games
- Continues to be actively involved with the sport of basketball as president of Future Stars USA, conducting camps for girls
