- Has officiated two NCAA Women’s Final Fours, including the first NCAA Women’s Final Four in 1982 and again in 1984
- Has been the primary clinician of NCAA regional women’s basketball officiating clinics since 1986

- Played on five AAU national championship teams (Vultee Aircraft Bomberettes in 1944 and 1945 and Cooks’ Goldblumes in 1946, 1948, and 1949) as well as national runners-up with Nashville Business College (1940 and 1941) and Goldblumes (1947)

Margaret Wade
- Coached 21 years on the high school level, compiling a 453-89 record at Marietta, Belden, and Cleveland high schools in Mississippi
- Played collegiately at Delta State for three years before school administrators disbanded the team after deeming the sport too strenuous for girls
- Returned to her alma mater in 1959 as head of the women’s physical education department
- Resurrected Delta State’s women’s basketball program in 1973-74 at the age of 60
- Went 16-2 her first season then reeled off three AIAW national championships (1975, 1976, 1977) and a 93-4 record that included a 51-game winning string
- Retired in 1979 with a 157-23 collegiate worksheet
- The Wade Trophy, given annually to the top women’s collegiate player, is named in her honor

Marian E. Washington
- Posted a 560-363 ledger in 31 seasons as the women’s basketball coach at the University of Kansas
- Guided Kansas to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the Sweet 16 twice, as well as two WNIT showings and three AIAW Sectional finishes while reaching the 20-win plateau 17 times and claiming seven league titles and six conference tournament championships
- Served as an assistant coach for the USA’s gold medal-winning Olympic team in 1996, becoming the first African-American to coach on a U.S. Olympic women’s basketball staff
- Became the first African-American woman to coach a U.S. team in international competition when she guided the U.S. Select Team to a 7-1 record and a silver medal at the R. William Jones Cup in Taiwan in 1982
- Named conference coach of the year three times, receiving Big Eight Coach of the Year recognition in 1992 and 1996 and Big 12 Coach of the Year honors in 1997
- Received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Black Coaches Association in 2003 as well as being tabbed as Coach of the Year by the BCA in both 1992 and 1996
- Was the first female to serve as president of the Black Coaches Association as well as the first individual to serve consecutive terms as president of the organization
- Played collegiately at West Chester State University, helping lead her team to the first-ever national title for women’s college basketball
- Was also a two-time AAU All-American
- Was the first of two African-American women to compete internationally, representing the United States at the 1971 World Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Served as the first and only Athletics Director for Women’s Athletics at the University of Kansas (1974-79)

Marianne Crawford Stanley
- Venerable coaching veteran who posted a 415-224 ledger in 21 seasons on the collegiate level
- Won a pair of AIAW championships (1979 and 1980) as well as an NCAA crown (1985) as the head coach at Old Dominion University
- Coaching vita also includes stints as the head coach at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Southern California, and the University of California as well as an assistant with the Los Angeles Sparks and the Washington Mystics in the WNBA
- Garnered Kodak All-America distinction during her playing days in both her junior and senior years at Immaculata in 1975 and 1976 after leading the Mighty Macs to AIAW national championship titles in 1973 and 1974
- International coaching experience includes serving as head coach of USA squad that competed in the 1985 Women’s Junior World Championships as well as assisting with the USA team that captured the gold medal in both the World Championships and Goodwill Games in 1986 and the bronze medal in the 1991 Pan American Games
- Named head coach of the WNBA’s Washington Mystics in April 2002
